General Guidelines
A good roof makes a house! The roof pieces should connect each other nicely, and not leave gaps or overlap strangely. The roof should fit the structure and architecture style, look nice, have an appropriate angle (not too high or too low), and not just be an auto-roof (or resemble one).
With flat roofs, ensure that they do not end too abruptly giving an unfinished look, and only use a flat roof where suitable for the building style.
For architectural styles from climates with cold weather (like Britain or northern Europe), it can be helpful to think about avoiding any gaps or areas where water and snow could pool or get into the house if you were building in the real-world.
